Jeans has become one of the greatest fashion trends in recent history. In the past 10 years Jeans has become more popular because it is still hard to find the perfect pair of jeans and especially youth generation are willing to spend their money more on a new pair of jeans no matter of how many they already have in their closets.

The story belongs to the city of Genoa, Italy. The city was famous for a type of cotton, which was very similar to the jean fabric. Genoese sailors started to use it to cover their goods from weather. During the republic of Genoa, the jeans were exported by sailors throughout Europe. At the end of nineteenth century, jeans arrived to the United States. They were first created by Levi Strauss. He came to America in 1853 at the age of 24 and began importing cotton to make sturdy pants together with his tailor Jacob Davis. Strauss took the patent from US Patent and Trade Mark Office for Levi’s in May 20, 1873 and US met with its first pair of blue jeans. Although denim was first only worn by mine workers, and known as work wear, it has improved and has been through many changes and has become the main apparel item, which is available to everyone at almost every price level.

In this industry, fit, price, quality, brand name, style, fabric, brand awareness, uniqueness and friend/peer opinion are among the main characteristics for consumers to think before purchasing a new pair of jeans.
